Our very own wedding was featured recently on the front page of Style Me Pretty! Josh and I had our very own wedding this past May 20 at Vine Hill House in Sebastopol, California. It was so fun being on the other side as a bride. It was a lot of work (now I can totally understand my couples!) but also such a magical day. We were just surrounded by love and happiness throughout as well as such generosity and caring from friends and family. We have to especially thank all of the amazing vendors that made our day special including our photographer Kayla Yestal and our flower friends at La Lavande (I used to design for Momo). She was also assisted by my flower friend Annette of Petals of Love, who helped design many of the beautiful flowers you see here. I was also lucky to have my friend Ruth Easterbrook design our ceramic vessels for the centerpieces for us. A delicious family style meal was served by Trends Catering and music was by AMS Entertainment. There are way too many gorgeous photos to share them all, but you can see lots more including a full list of vendors over on Style Me Pretty!
Vibrant Solage Calistoga Wedding
Lisa and Sterling were married in August at the beautiful Solage Resort and Spa in Calistoga, California this past August. They chose a fun colorful palette of magenta and blush with natural vibrant greenery and touches of deep plum.
I loved the way the hanging orb came together, inspired by Kristen of Sugar Rush Events. It created such an impact in the room. The beautiful gold trays and other gold accents also created a gorgeous glam look on the tables. Take a look at these lovely images by Megan Clouse Photography to see more from the day.
Peachy Fall Blooms
I have been having tons of fun learning to photograph my flowers on film! I purchased a Pentax 645n and am using Fuji 400h film to capture my images. It's been a learning curve but I'm starting to really love the results. Below is a little fun I had with some gorgeous peachy brown lisianthus I just had to buy and some leftover blooms from an event. Sometimes it can be so inspiring just to play with flowers and create something you love!
Madeline and Kris at the Triton Museum of Art
Madeline and Kris were such a sweet, laid back couple to work with. They were married at the Triton Museum of Art and they chose a modern yet organic look with lots of greenery, succulents and ivory blooms. The groom himself designed the modern copper arch, which paired perfectly with the lush greenery. Thank you to Russ Levi Photography for capturing these moody, beautiful images.
Woodsy Santa Cruz Mountain Wedding
S+M were married in the beautiful Santa Cruz mountains at the Stones and Flowers Retreat. They chose a woodsy theme with lots of ferns, lush greenery and hints of purple including kale and succulents. The guests stayed the weekend in the awesome cabins on-site and danced the night away in the beautiful barn. Enjoy the photos by Megan Braemore Photography.
Kara and Jim's Kenwood Wedding
Kara and Jim held an intimate destination wedding at a private residence in Kenwood, California. It's a beautiful property called Sonoma Luxury Ranch, situated on a large property that is often rented out for an entire weekend of fun. The ceremony was held atop a beautiful hillside with a backdrop of the vineyard valley below. The reception took place on a beautiful stone patio near the home and nestled among the trees. It felt like a secret garden, shaded from the warmth of the summer heat and protected from the outside. Kara's knew she wanted sunflowers in her arrangements, so we designed a beautiful and rich summery palette of deep burgundy and plum, vibrant yellow and rich greenery along with accents of ivory and white. It was wonderful to work with Courtney of LVL Weddings and Events as well as the talented Megan Clouse Photography.
Devon and Ian's Yokayo Ranch Wedding
Devon and Ian celebrated their big day at the laid back Yokayo Ranch in Ukiah, California. They wanted a place where friends and family could gather and enjoy an entire weekend of swimming, relaxing and celebrating. The groomsmen wore mix and match floral ties which set the mood for the vibrant, summery flowers we used. We created colorful, slightly bohemian and organic designs including long lush garlands, bouquets and ceremony arch. Flowers such as king protea, hanging amaranth, ranunculus, fern, and other mixed wildflowers were used. Devon and Ian were so great to work with and were a truly sweet and easygoing couple. Thanks to Melissa Fuller Photography for capturing their day so beautifully.
Kuelli and Ed's Garden Wedding at Campovida
Kuelli and Ed held a gorgeous spring wedding at Campovida, just as the garden roses and wisteria was coming into full bloom. The couple chose a palette of ivory and white with touches of deep blue and burgundy. The nearly black floral accents tied into the moody photography captured by Brown Paper Parcel. Thanks to Sasha Souza Events for the impeccable planning, as well!
Jessica and Jay's Spring Wedding in Wine Country
Jessica and Jay were married at the beautiful Trentadue Winery in Geyserville, California. Jessica did such an amazing job of styling the wedding, including such detailed touches as velvet tied around the place settings, individual baguettes with menus printed on them at each place setting, taper candles and more. To create a beautiful wine country tables cape we hand tied natural and delicate olive garlands for the long tables under the grape arbor. We used plenty of fluffy spring peonies, ranunculus, garden roses and more along with unique texture such as rice flower and hypericum berry for the bouquets and accent flowers. Thanks to Carina Skrobecki Photography for these gorgeous moody images.

Kelly and Dave's Cliffside Coastal Timber Cove Resort Wedding
Kelly and Dave held their wedding at the gorgeous Timber Cove Resort in the small coastal town of Jenner, California. The couple loves the outdoors and hiking, so being married cliffside overlooking the water was the perfect setting for them. They chose flowers of white and beautiful lush greenery with accents of deep burgundy and delicate pale blue. We used lots of spring blooms like ranunculus, hellebore, white jasmine vine, viburnum, tweedia and more. It was a joy working with Kelly and Dave, and to see these stunning photos from Andria Lo Weddings. The day was also executed perfectly by Downey Street Events. Enjoy!
Andrea and Josh's Engagement photos in Point Reyes
I'm so excited to share a few photos from my and Josh's engagement session with the incredibly talented Kayla Yestal. We headed to Point Reyes for photos, and were so lucky that the winter rain held off until we were finishing up our session. It was so much fun to be in front of the camera and to be able to design some flowers just for fun!
Kara and Hank at Vine Hill House in Sebastopol
Kara and Hank were married this summer at Vine Hill House, a charming apple orchard and vineyard venue located in Sebastopol, California. The couple chose shades of lavender and white with a summery and organic feel to the flowers. We used lots of fresh lavender, garden roses, honeysuckle vine, and more. Carrie and John in Sonoma
Carrie and John were married this fall at the lovely Garden Pavilion in Sonoma. Carrie is one of my oldest childhood friends, and it was a true joy to celebrate with her and her family. Carrie opted for vibrant fall colors with a slight Spanish inspiration. The tables featured long garland inspired greenery with satsuma oranges. Each place setting had a lovely Spanish tile with guests names, and a Spanish meal was served, complete with Paella. It was such a beautiful and joy filled day, and I was so happy to provide flowers and to be a part of the celebration. Thank you to Nicole of Sweetness and Light Photography for the beautiful images!
Megan and Clement's Brutocao Contento Wedding
Megan and Clement held their wedding in Mendocino County, at the picturesque Brutocao Contento Vineyard. They opted for classic elegance, with a simple petite bouquet of calla lilies, roses, and dahlia for the bride, and calla boutonniere's for the groomsmen. Thank you to Perfect Circle Photography for the images!
Jessica and Tito's Mill Valley Outdoor Art Club Wedding
Jessica and Tito were married at the Mill Valley Outdoor Art Club in October. We incorporated lots of fall flowers in shades of burgundy, coral and ivory with vibrant greenery accents. The bouquet included coral amaryllis, dendrobium orchid, ranunculus, hellebores, burgundy dahlias, and more. We added eucalyptus and fern greenery that brought in the lush wooded feeling of the area as well. Jessica and Tito were such a happy, appreciative couple and I am so glad to have been a part of their day, and to have Studio 13 Designs there to capture it all.
Sandi and Nathan at Ralston White Retreat in Mill Valley
Sandi and Nathan held their lovely winter wedding at the Ralston White Retreat in Mill Valley. The venue is a beautiful white house with a heart shaped lawn and sits atop a mountain nestled in the redwoods. For Sandi we designed an elegant, winter bouquet featuring anemone, ferns, ranunculus, roses, and more. We also designed a coordinating flower crown and boutonnieres. Bright Bohemian Styled Shoot
This bright and cheery styled shoot was inspired by lots and lots of color! As a floral designer, I often see couples shying away from color, and I wanted to do something fun, bright and playful that pushes the boundaries of more traditional wedding design. As spring and summer arrive, I always am excited by flowers like the vibrant icelandic poppies featured here. They naturally come in a beautiful mixture of bright orange, yellow, and peach, and create a bold effect when combined with other beautiful blooms like king protea, acacia, and garden roses.
The beautiful Olympiaโs Valley Estate in Sonoma County was the backdrop for this shoot and also helped inspire the aesthetic. I was lucky to work with the extremely talented Jamie of Studio13 Designs, who captured the essence of our bright bohemian shoot so beautifully.

Alison and Orion in Sonoma County
Alison and Orion were married in their beautiful backyard in Sonoma County. They grew up not far from me, and their parents still live in Mendocino County and grew many of the flowers that were used in their wedding. Alison's mother harvested flowers the day before the wedding, and I was able to choose from all of the bounty to design the bouquets, boutonnieres and the dog collar for their sweet dog. I incorporated California Oak into the designs, and even put a small acorn in the groom's boutonniere, as they were being married under an oak tree. Take a look at a few of the photos captured by Luke Keegan Photography.
KC and Ben in Philo
KC and Ben held their wedding festivities at River's Bend Retreat in Philo, California, nestled in the woods alongside the Navarro River. The couple wanted a laid back, fun filled wedding where guests camped out for the weekend and swam in the river before the day's events began. The bride hand made ceramic vases which we filled with colorful blooms. They decorated long farm tables where guests ate, drank and danced into the night. These beautiful images were shared with me thanks to Lucille Lawrence Photography. Coordination by Madeline of Fern Foot Events.
